Don Sturtz, President, calling on Key Accounts

Don began his career in publihsing shortly after Joanthan Livngston Seagull hit the bestseller list. In 1973, with his Ford Pinto, he headed into the Midwest bookstores like Kroch's & Brentano's, Stuart Brent Books and Marshall Fields. He began working for Fujii Associates in 1983, where his territory included Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Michigan, and Minnesota. Don called on Borders and Walden beginning the early 1990's. He now works with key accounts in the Midwest and leads his team in remaining one of the premier rep organizations in the country. He no longer drives a Ford Pinto.

Eric Heidemann, Owner & Managing Partner, calling on Easten IA, MO, AR and Central IL

Eric lives outside of St. Louis, MO and covers Eastern Iowa, Missouri, NE Arkansas, and key accounts in Chicago and Central Illinois.  Eric specializes in Educational Wholesale accounts.  Some of his key Retail accounts are Anderson's, Prairie Lights, Left Bank Books, Rainy Day Books and Reading Reptile.  Some key Wholesale accounts are Cowley Distributing, Booksource and Hertzberg New Method.  He began his publishing career in 1995 as a House Rep for National Book Network.  He joined Fujii in 1998 and in 2011 he took over as Owner and Managing Partner, working closely with Don Sturtz.

Eric graduated from the University of Georgia in 1993 with a BS in Agricultural Economics and a History minor which he applied at his first job in the publishing "field", maintaining the grounds at the Baker and Taylor distribution center in Commerce, GA.  His battles with Kudzu were epic.

Andy Holcomb, Calling on OH, MI, and Key Accounts around Chicago

Andy lives in Ann Arbor, MI and covers all of Ohio, most of Michigan, and select account in Illinois. Andy has been in Michigan since 2003.  Some key accounts in the territory are Follett Higher Education, NACSCORP, Joseph Beth, Schuler Books, and the wealth of amazing bookstore in Northern Michigan.

He started his book career with Book Inventory Systems and Borders in 1992.  Andy served as an Operations Manager for Barnes & Noble stores in Boulder and Fort Collins, CO.  He spent nearly 5 years as a McGraw Hill house rep covering Trade Accounts and National Accounts.  He joined Fujii in 2000 to cover Trade accounts out of Austin, TX.  Andy is in charge of all data and our Filemaker ordering systems, which Fujii has been using and improving since 2005. 

Andy graduated from The Univeristy of Michigan with a BA Degree in German Language and Literature.  He lived and studied in Germany for 18 months and was in Berlin when The Wall came down.

Tom Bowen, Calling on AR, LA, OK and TX

Tom joined Fujii Associates in 1997 and is based in Dallas, Texas. Tom manages accounts in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas (“TOLA”).  Among his major accounts is Hastings Entertainment, with whom Tom has worked with continually for over 15 years. He works closely with other multi-store retail operations such as Mardel and Whole Earth Provision Company and with specialized book wholesalers such as Complete Book & Media, PMG International and Forest Sales. Tom is a popular representative among the independent accounts in his territory and over the years has built strong relationships with a wide range of retail accounts outside the traditional book trade channel.

Tom was voted Sales Rep of the Year for Hastings Entertainment in June 2104!

Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Public Relations and a Master of Arts degree in communication both from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mark Fleeman, Calling on Chicago & Central/North IL, IN, KY, LA, Central WI

Mark lives in Valparaiso, IN and he covers accounts in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin.  Some key acccounts in this territory are Carmichael's, Follett Library, BPDI, Children's Plus, Penworthy and Kid's Ink.  Mark began his career in 1983 as a writer for Knight Ridder in Gary, IN and Miami, FL.  He joined Fujii Associates in 1988 and has worked territories in TOLA and the upper Midwest before settling in IN. 

Mark graduated from Indiana State University with a Major in History and a Minor in Geography.  Mark has been known to act as a Pitching Scout for Major League Baseball.

Beth Chang, Calling on NE, KS, Western IA and Eastern SD

Beth lives in Lincoln, NE and covers accounts in Nebraska, Kansas, Western Iowa, and Easten South Dakota.  Beth began her career in publishing with Alfred A Knopf and Vintage Books as part of the Sales & Marketing team.  Beth later became the first US employee from Dorling Kindersley as they launched their US Publishing program under their own name - she was the Promotions Manager.  She moved to Nebraska in 1994 and began working for Heinecken & Associates for Gift and Trade Book Sales.

Beth holds a degree from Vassar College.

Adrienne Franceschi, Calling on MN, ND, SD, WI and Select Accounts in IL

Adrienne lives in Milwaukee and covers select accounts in Illinois and Wisconsin.  She started her career with Workman Publishing in New York, where she worked with national accounts such as Barnes & Noble, Borders and Ingram. She also handled ebook promotions for both companies

Adrienne holds a Master's Degree in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston, as well as a B.A. in English and Theater from Suffold University.

She is a newcomer to the Midwest, after splitting her time between Boston and New York. She's thrilled to be the newest member of Fujii Associates.

Kathy Bogs, Office Manager and all around Fujii Hero

After 20 years of running a large scale optometric practice, Kathy looked for a fulfilling career change.  In March of 2002 she joined Fujii Associates as the Office Business Manager.

Kathy is in integral part the Fujii staff,  working closely with Publishers, with our Accounts and with our Reps.  In addition to her large Customer Service role, Kathy manages the financial and HR related activities.

What she likes best about the book industry is the creativity of the many authors we see each year.

Kathy has a degree as a Registered Paraoptometric Technician.  She’s married to a business professional and lives in Orland Park, IL.  She has two wonderful children who each have post graduate degrees.

Gina Heidemann, Office in St Louis

Gina keeps the waters just below flood stage for the Managing Partner.  She also manages the Fujii Associates catalog distribution for each rep in the group.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Development, and this is also where she met the man of her dreams.
